CLAT Eligibility Criteria is as follows:-

In the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination), the candidates must have secured:

  1. Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories
  2. Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

When are you eligible to give CLAT after clearing 12th Class or while you are in 12th?

  • Candidates who are appearing for 12th Class examination can appear for CLAT Exam.
  • The candidate can appear in the same year in which they are going to give the 12th board exams.
  • You are required to show the result proving that you have passed 12th at the time of admission. (By the time CLAT admissions take place 12th class board results are out)

What if two candidates secure same marks and rank in CLAT?

In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order as under:-

  1. Higher marks in the component / section on legal aptitude in the CLAT 2021 exam;
  2. Higher age;
  3. Computerised draw of lots.

There is no upper age limit in CLAT for 5 year law course according to CLAT official notification.

How many attempts can you take? (Are there any restrictions on number of attempts)

Unlimited. You can take as many attempts as you want.

Can you give CLAT after graduation?

Yes, you can give CLAT after graduation. But, you should know that there are 3 year law schools too which should be preferred by candidates who have done there graduation. You are eligible to give CLAT after graduation.

Is there anything called CLAT 3 year LLB?

No, there is nothing called CLAT 3 year LLB. After giving CLAT, you can take admission in 5 year law colleges only not 3 year law courses.
